ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Pakistan has been recognized as the 2024 Best Tech Destination at the upcoming GITEX Global event, marking a significant milestone for the country’s IT sector. This achievement comes ahead of the October event, highlighting Pakistan’s growing prominence in the global technology landscape.
GITEX Global, the largest technology exhibition in the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia, focuses on innovative technologies and AI-driven economic futures. The event provides a platform for international IT experts, investors, and companies to foster collaboration and partnerships.
Pakistan’s participation in GITEX Global 2024 will be led by the Pakistan Software Export Board and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan. Over 80 prominent companies and startups from the country are slated to attend, demonstrating the breadth of Pakistan’s tech ecosystem.
The nation’s IT industry has been experiencing rapid growth, with an annual influx of 75,000 IT graduates contributing to a robust freelance community. According to the Kearney Global Location Index, Pakistan ranks as a top destination for IT outsourcing, offering services at up to 70% lower operational costs compared to North America.
The Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) has played a crucial role in propelling Pakistan’s IT industry towards economic growth and innovation.
