ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Chinese Premier Li Qiang expressed hope on Sunday that Chinese and Vietnamese entrepreneurs would actively follow the current trends, seize opportunities and enhance cooperation for mutual business development and common growth.
Li made the remarks at a symposium attended by Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and representatives from both nations in Vietnam’s capital Hanoi.
The Chinese premier said China-Vietnam relations have progressed steadily in recent years, yielding fruitful results from joint efforts. As traditional socialist neighbors, the two countries present significant opportunities for each other, and economic and trade cooperation has been a cornerstone of their relationship and a key driver of bilateral ties.
Looking ahead, Li emphasized the potential for expanded cooperation through aligned development strategies, increased connectivity and mutual economic advantages. He highlighted the strong political trust, geographic proximity and deep-rooted friendship that underpin their collaboration.
Li encouraged entrepreneurs to engage actively in national development strategies and leverage various economic and trade agreements, including the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership and the upgraded China-ASEAN Free Trade Area. He proposed collaborative efforts in industry integration, stable cross-border supply chains and innovation, particularly in clean energy, biomedicine and artificial intelligence.
Speaking on the occasion, the Vietnamese prime minister reiterated the importance of deepening bilateral relations, noting that China is Vietnam’s largest trading partner while Vietnam is China’s largest partner in ASEAN. He highlighted the importance of economic cooperation as a pillar of their friendly ties and expressed Vietnam’s willingness to work with China in the spirit of mutual benefit.
He committed to creating a favorable business environment for Chinese enterprises and encouraged joint efforts to enhance cooperation in finance, technology, infrastructure, digital and green economies, and supply chain connectivity.
Representatives from participating businesses agreed that the strategic guidance from both nations’ leaders has invigorated economic cooperation. They expressed optimism about the Belt and Road Initiative’s compatibility with Vietnam’s Two Corridors and One Economic Circle strategy and voiced their commitment to exploring opportunities in finance, infrastructure, digital economy and green energy.
