ISLAMABAD (PEN) : The International Agriculture Conference 2024 commenced in Karachi with a focus on advancing sustainable farming practices and innovative technologies in Pakistan’s agricultural sector. The event was officially inaugurated by Sindh’s Provincial Minister for Women Development, Shahina Sher Ali, with support from the Sindh Agriculture Department as co-host.
Attendees included prominent figures such as Major General Shahid Nazir, Director General of the Green Pakistan Initiative, Sindh’s Agriculture Secretary Rafiq Ahmed Buriro, Special Agriculture Secretary Jahangir Kakar, KP Agriculture Secretary Ata-ur-Rehman, and Durdana Shehab, Chairperson of the Pakistan Media Development Foundation, all of whom shared insights on the conference’s role in promoting agricultural advancements.
The two-day conference highlighted themes like organic farming and water management, with panel discussions focused on implementing technology and sustainable agricultural practices. An exhibition accompanying the conference showcased the latest agricultural technologies, drawing stakeholders, experts, researchers, and policymakers.
The event saw participation from agriculture departments of Sindh, Balochistan, and KP, along with financial institutions including the National Bank of Pakistan, Bank of Punjab, and the Saudi Pak Industrial and Agricultural Investment Company, all supporting awareness on agricultural financing.
The International Agriculture Conference 2024 serves as a strategic platform, marking a pioneering step for sustainable agriculture in Sindh and nationwide.
