ISLAMABAD (PEN) : US President Joe Biden congratulated president-elect Donald Trump on his victory in a phone call following the country’s presidential election, according to American media reports.
Biden expressed his commitment to ensuring a peaceful transfer of power, emphasizing the importance of unity and collaboration in facing the country’s challenges.
Reports indicate that Biden also extended an invitation to Trump for a meeting at the White House, which the president-elect accepted.
Earlier, Biden telephoned Vice President Kamala Harris, who had been the Democratic candidate in the election. The president is set to address the nation later today.
