ISLAMABAD (PEN) : China hosted the Belt and Road Capacity-building Seminar on Financing Mechanisms and Carbon Finance, sharing its climate change expertise with representatives from 13 countries, including Pakistan, Indonesia, and Brazil. The event, organized by China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment, gathered 21 global officials to discuss climate finance and sustainable strategies, emphasizing the need for support from developed nations as mandated by international agreements. Deputy Director Chen Zhihua highlighted China’s commitment to South-South cooperation, showcasing China’s leadership in climate action. The seminar covered topics like AI, energy transition, carbon markets, and green finance, with China’s climate training programs having benefited over 2,600 professionals globally.
