ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, the chief of the Awami Muslim League (AML), expressed strong criticism on Friday, calling the ruling coalition in Pakistan a “symbol of hatred.” Speaking to reporters outside the court, he accused the establishment of using these political parties and said that the coalition was now of no use to them.
Rashid slammed the government for its obedience to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), highlighting the severe impact the IMF loan has had on ordinary Pakistanis, worsening their already difficult lives.
When asked about India’s refusal to play the 2025 Champions Trophy matches in Pakistan, Rashid suggested that Pakistan should also consider not inviting India. He took a swipe at former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, accusing him of trying to appease India. Rashid called on the current leadership to focus on improving relations with Bangladesh instead of prioritizing ties with India, urging them to focus on regional stability and diplomacy.
