ISLAMABAD (PEN) : A major convenience has been introduced for Hajj pilgrims of 2025 with the announcement that they will be able to obtain their passports within just 24 hours.
Director General of Passports, Mustafa Jamal Qazi, revealed that a special desk will be set up for Hajj pilgrims at all regional passport offices, including the headquarters.
In a step towards improving the service, this facility will also be available at passport offices around the world, ensuring a quick and efficient process for those applying for passports for the holy pilgrimage.
“We are establishing special counters to deal with Hajj applicants on a priority basis. Pilgrims will be assured of receiving their passports within 24 hours,” said Mustafa Jamal Qazi, outlining the streamlined procedure that will significantly reduce the waiting time for pilgrims.
This new initiative will provide relief to thousands of prospective pilgrims, who previously faced delays in the passport application process during the busy Hajj season.
The special counters will be operational at passport offices globally, making the process more accessible for citizens planning to travel for Hajj from various parts of the world.
In addition to the passport issuance update, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced an instalment payment plan for those applying under the government-run Hajj scheme for 2025. The scheme will offer two types of packages: the standard package, which spans 38 to 42 days, and the Short Package, lasting 20 to 25 days.
The expected cost for the government scheme in 2025 will range between Rs1,075,000 and Rs1,175,000, depending on the selected package. Pilgrims opting for a sacrificial animal will incur an additional cost of Rs55,000, while accommodation in Makkah will require an extra Rs220,000 for a double-bed room or Rs75,000 for a triple-bed room.
Moreover, the payment process for the government scheme will follow a structured timeline: the first installment of Rs200,000 must be submitted along with the Hajj application.
