ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, during her visit to Shanghai on the third leg of her China tour, met with Zou Zongming, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Shanghai Committee, to discuss strengthening Punjab-Shanghai economic ties. The meeting focused on collaboration in trade, investment, science, technology, and industry, with Maryam inviting Shanghai companies to invest in Punjab’s Special Economic Zones. She praised China’s support for training Pakistani professionals and emphasized Shanghai’s role in advancing Pakistan’s IT sector, aligning with President Xi Jinping’s vision. Maryam highlighted Pakistan’s improving economic indicators and deep ties with China, while Zou reaffirmed Shanghai’s commitment to fostering trade, cultural, and strategic partnerships.
