ISLAMABAD (PEN) : The seminar titled “10 Years of CPEC: Success, Opportunities, and Challenges,” organized by the Asian Institute of Eco-civilisation Research and Development (AIERD), highlighted the transformative impact of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) on Pakistan’s economy. Shi Yuanqiang, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Chinese Embassy, revealed that CPEC has attracted $25 billion in direct investment and significantly enhanced Pakistan’s energy capacity, infrastructure, and connectivity. Jamil Qureshi of the SIFC emphasized the importance of industrial ecosystems and Special Economic Zones (SEZs), while AIERD Chairman Zahid Latif Khan proposed innovative financial tools like CPEC bonds to deepen financial markets. Speakers stressed the need for security, women’s participation, and better communication strategies to maximize CPEC’s benefits. The seminar concluded with a call for joint efforts to ensure the corridor’s sustainability and its role in shaping Pakistan’s economic future.
