ISLAMABAD (PEN) : China’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, highlighted the significant contributions of China-Pakistan cooperation during the first concrete ceremony of the Chashma Nuclear Power Plant Unit-5 (C-5), which is expected to create 40,000 jobs at its peak construction period. He emphasized Pakistan’s strategic advantages in location, language, and human resources, complementing China’s technological and financial strengths, enabling both nations to explore third-party markets and enhance collaboration. Noting that China’s direct investment accounted for 41% of Pakistan’s total investment in the past five months, he stressed the importance of advancing signature CPEC projects, expanding non-CPEC initiatives, and fostering high-quality Belt and Road cooperation. The ambassador lauded achievements like the year-round operation of the Khunjerab-Sost Pass and the commercial operation of the Suki Kinari Hydropower Station, expressing optimism about deepening connectivity and mutual growth while urging Pakistan to maintain a favorable business environment for Chinese enterprises.
