While talking to media at an international forum, Badar U Zaman, commercial counselor of the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing said that Pakistan can overtake India in trade with China during the next eight years. Experts said that this is because of iron-clad friendship shared between both Pakistan and China and the substantial progress being made for the construction of the multi-billion-dollar CPEC that will boost bilateral trade. They also talked about India’s ban on Chinese investment in the country, which has negatively affected bilateral trade between the two. Badar uz Zaman also talked about the largest share of China in Pakistan’s exports, and pledged security to the Chinese officials and investors working in the country.
