ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Pakistan and China have expressed firm resolve to synergizing development strategies and pushing forward all CPEC projects in a safe, smooth, and high-quality manner. This resolve was expressed in a joint statement after a meeting between Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Guangzhou. Both sides expressed pleasure with the steady expansion of China-Pakistan economic cooperation. They agreed that the CPEC had enhanced Pakistan’s infrastructure and accelerated its socioeconomic development. Both parties agreed to promote cooperation in areas like economics and commerce, investment, industry, agriculture, health, and research and technology. The two sides decided to work together to make the most of phase-II of the China-Pakistan Free Trade Agreement, noting with satisfaction the record bilateral trade reached last year. Terrorism was dubbed the “shared enemy of humanity” by both sides, who pledged not to let anyone harm the China-Pakistan iron brotherhood. In addition, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi agreed to visit Pakistan for the Pakistan-China Strategic Dialogue.
