KARACHI (PEN) – Renowned TV host and MNA Aamir Liaquat Hussain passed away on Thursday. After his death, the body was shifted to the mortuary for completion of medico-legal formalities, the family refused to have an autopsy conducted but police is insistent to carry out the process.
SSP East Karachi Abdul Rahim Sherazi said that Hussain s body will not be given to the family without doing the postpartum, while he added if the family does not want it to be done then they should bring order from the court.
Earlier on Thursday, Hussain’s house was sealed as the police launched investigations into his sudden death.
Police also wrote a letter to welfare organization Chhipa that not to hand over his dead body to anyone. The police also requested that his body will be collected by the officials of Brigade Police Station.
It is pertinent to mention here that funeral prayers of Aamir Liaquat would be offered after Friday prayers at the Jamia Masjid Abdullah Shah Ghazi in the Clifton area of Karachi. The announcement was made by his first wife Syeda Bushra Iqbal.
Bushra Iqbal said that the deceased will be taken to his final resting place with respect and honour, clarifying that her children Ahmed Aamir and Dua-e-Aamir have refused to allow the autopsy of their father.
