ISLAMABAD (PEN) :According to the official data from the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China (GACC), Pakistan’s rice export to China crossed $277.56 million in the first five months of FY22, up 9.73% year on year. Furthermore, according to Commercial Counselor Badaruz Zaman of the Pakistani Embassy in Beijing, the main varieties of rice exported to China at the moment are broken rice, particularly Irri-6, Irri-9, and semi- or fully milled rice, while exporters of Basmati and other premium varieties still need to work hard to gain access to the Chinese market.
