ISLAMABAD : According to the statement of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, China has conveyed to the interim administration in Kabul that Beijing supports extending the CPEC to Afghanistan. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi told Afghan interim Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit of foreign ministers. Wang also announced zero tariffs on 98% of Afghan imports and the resumption of the issuance of visas to Afghan citizens beginning early next month.
