ISLAMABAD : According to the media report, the CPEC project is kicking off after a decelerated stage. The Pakistani government affirms its determination to speed up construction on the CPEC projects. Both counties are engaged in finalizing the agenda of the 11th Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) on CPEC. The Gwadar Free Zone has also been supplying the local market with manufactured goods and trade goods. China and Pakistan are also considering including Afghanistan in the CPEC. Out of the nine SEZs proposed under CPEC, five are currently being developed in Pakistan. To increase exports and close the trade gap, the Pakistani government is also eager to entice foreign direct investment into the textile, IT, agriculture, research and technology, and mining sectors.
