ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Work on the 884-megawatt Suki Kinari hydropower project, part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor initiative, is progressing swiftly despite security concerns. The project, situated on the Kunhar River in Kaghan Valley, will be the province’s first reservoir under CPEC. Security measures for the 300 Chinese workers have been reinforced, and completion is anticipated by November. Additionally, the government plans to allocate funds in the upcoming budget to enhance communication services and infrastructure in tourist areas like Kaghan Valley, with initiatives such as chairlift installations and winter tourism promotion to further boost tourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
