ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Kazakh counterpart, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, on Friday sent congratulatory messages to the launch of the Kazakhstan tourism year in China in 2024.
Cultural exchanges and tourism cooperation are important links between the people of China and Kazakhstan, Xi said.
In recent years, people-to-people exchanges between the two countries have been on the rise, with the entry into force of the mutual visa exemption agreement, the signing of the agreement on the establishment of mutual cultural centers, the establishment of the Luban Workshop and the frequent youth exchanges, he noted.
“I hope that the two countries will take the tourism year as an opportunity to deepen tourism cooperation, enhance people-to-people exchanges, join hands to build China-Kazakhstan relations for another ‘golden 30 years’ and make new contributions to the construction of a China-Kazakhstan community with a shared future,” said Xi.
Tokayev said Kazakhstan and China are friendly neighbors, and political mutual trust continues to deepen.
Kazakhstan has a long history and culture, with many places of interest and beautiful natural scenery, as well as people’s hospitality, he said, adding that his country can become a most popular destination for Chinese tourists.
The Kazakh side will organize a series of activities for the tourism year to comprehensively enhance Chinese tourists’ understanding of Kazakhstan and further consolidate the friendship between Kazakhstan and China, he added.
